Accepting The Tears
Swallowing each one
I’ve accepted the tears
My heart wonders why
He no longer appears
As each tear dissolves
No sound they make
Aching seems to grow
In a silent heartbreak
There was no warning
I thought him a friend
No way of knowing
Why forever does end
We shared for so long
Now I’m swept aside
Year ends in sadness
These tears I will hide
As the days tick over
My heart descending
I am suffering silently
Of a friendship ending.
